This year Santa is making an early visit to Windermere and Bowness, making a special boat journey and riding his sleigh through the town. The day kicks off at 10.30am boarding a special Santa Cruise, Windermere Lake Cruises boat, sailing at 11am prompt with Christmas Carols and gifts from Santa.

Tickets for the Cruise are available from The Earth Collection, Quarry Rigg, Bowness and Windermere Wine Stores, Crescent Road, Windermere.

There are charity stalls and entertainment in the centre of Bowness from mid-day on Saturday before the evening celebrations in Windermere.

The Lakes Jazz Men will be entertaining in Windermere in the early afternoon followed by the Kookaburras who will get the party atmosphere started later in the day.

Windermere Fire Service will get the parade underway leaving from Windermere Station at 5.30pm. Father Christmas and his helpers on their sleigh will follow, switching the lights on with a sprinkling of magic.

The parade will wind its way down to Queens Park Recreation Ground, for a dazzling firework display starting at approximately 6.30pm. Warming mulled wine, mince pies, burgers and refreshments along with stalls and a raffle will be available at Queen's Park.

Residents and visitors of all ages are encouraged to take part.  Many of the local schools and childcare services are making masks during school time. There is no theme to the masks but the brighter the better!
